CALL FOR OMEA Nominations Committee Members 

Happy New Year! 2026 is an election year for the OMEA Board of Directors. Currently, we are looking for OMEA members interested in putting their name forward to join our Nominations Committee. As identified in our Elections Policy (found on the OMEA website, Policies and Procedures), and as per our Bylaw #2, the OMEA board must establish a Nominations Committee. 

The Nominations Committee functions to organize nominees and facilitate an election according to the Elections Policy procedure. Please note: Nominations committee members cannot be members running for a position in the 2026 election. The committee will consist of 3-6 current members and board members of the OMEA. In the event there are more than 6 applicants for the Nominations Committee, members will be selected by a randomized lottery which will be supervised by the OMEA Executive. The Nominations Committee will meet several times, as needed, before the OMEA Elections to be held Saturday, November. 7, 2026 at the OMEA conference, PULSE 2026, in Blue Mountain.

The Chair of the committee is appointed by the OMEA Board of Directors and has identified that he will not be returning to the board of directors following term completion at AGM 2026.
