Seedling Concert Sessions

Are you looking for an opportunity for your ensemble to perform and receive a workshop by a clinician that specializes in your group’s style of music? Consider applying to bring your ensemble to ROOTS! We welcome groups of all divisions and abilities. This includes bands, choirs, jazz bands, string ensembles, recorder or ukulele groups, small ensembles.

The focus of this session will prioritize PROCESS over PRODUCT. Your group will perform a mini-concert (15 min max) followed by a workshop session. Participants/audience will have an opportunity to be part of the process. Your group does not have to do extensive preparation in order to participate in this opportunity. We will meet you where you’re at!

Information you will need for the application:

name of school and board

director’s name

director’s email

type of group and ensemble name (all styles welcome)

level of ensemble

estimated number of members in the group

Properties Requirements (number of chairs, stands etc…)

We will provide:

music stands, chairs, microphone (if needed)

large percussion instruments

You must provide:

Instruments (if applicable) and music

Transportation to and from RBC Place

After consideration by our committee, successful applicants will be contacted. Please note that teachers/conductors must be OMEA members.
