The Ontario Music Educators’ Association is calling for nominations to join our Board of Directors as of our AGM on November 7, 2026.
The OMEA seeks current and future leaders in music education who can provide advocacy, professional support, and community for educators so that every learner can access reflective and responsive music education. The OMEA acknowledges that diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise are critical to strengthening our organization and seeks representation that mirrors the varied learners across Ontario’s educational landscape. We value applicants who have demonstrated a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Members of the Board should be committed to the OMEA Charitable purposes and Values.
The OMEA is a registered non-profit organization seeking nominees from various regions and music education sectors across Ontario. All nominations are welcome; however, in order to geographically balance our Board of Directors, we encourage members from Eastern Ontario, Southwestern Ontario (including Hamilton, Niagara areas), Southwestern Ontario (including Windsor, Lambton/Kent), and the far north areas of Ontario to apply. We are also encouraging OECTA members to apply.
