The Ostinato Creation unit for grade 2 explores ways of understanding the half note and its duration. Students have the experience of playing pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments as part of this unit. The Orff process is embedded within each lesson as students experience music aurally, orally, kinaesthetically and visually. (4 lessons)
