Students will develop their listening & performance skills as they relate to jazz. Lessons include:
Discovering Jazz, Swing, Latin, Blues, Funk and Rock:

Lesson 1 – Discovering Jazz

Lesson 3 – Discovering Latin
Lesson 4 – Discovering Blues
Lesson 5 – Discovering Funk and Rock

Develop facility with the critical analysis process when interpreting the elements of music as they apply to jazz and understand how the combination of those elements contributes to the jazz style
Develop facility with the creative process when recognizing the elements of music as they apply to the swing style and understand through listening, how the manipulation of those elements contributes to the swing style. Develop facility with the creative process when performing in the swing style.
